Keaton’s Review:
I decided to try something new during this quarantine time. My sister recommended this smoothie and walked me through a step by step procedure, teaching me how to make it.
Here’s the lineup for the Blueberry Coconut Protein Smoothie:
☼ 1 cup frozen cauliflower
☼ 1/2 cup frozen organic wild blueberries
☼ 1 scoop protein powder (I prefer @gardenoflife vanilla protein powder)
☼ 1 tbsp coconut oil
☼ 1 tbsp hemp seeds
☼ 1 tsp golden flax seeds
☼ 1 tsp chia seeds
☼ 1 tsp pitaya powder
☼ 1 cup hemp milk (or your milk choice) + more to thin
The smoothie only takes about five minutes to make. It is a very healthy protein smoothie, perfect for after an at home workout! I would recommend this smoothie to anyone watching their figure or trying to improve their health. It is a great alternative smoothie, high in nutrients. I feel this smoothie energizes me and helps my body recover properly.
The vanilla protein powder is a personal favorite. You can even make this smoothie with chocolate or strawberry smoothie. Whatever you enjoy, will work with this smoothie. The coconut oil and coconut flakes gives the smoothie a nice touch of coconut. The seeds and pitaya powder are very good for your health.
Overall, this smoothie was delicious and easy to make. I felt amazing after consuming the smoothie because of all the beneficial nutrients. If you're doing at home workouts, it is an awesome source of protein to consume. On a scale from 1-10, I would rate this smoothie an 8.6, not only for the taste, but also for the health benefits! I hope you enjoy!
Tara’s Review:
Hey guys! I am super excited to share with y’all one of my favorite dishes my mother made me, that I just had to try to recreate. The dish is a lightly breaded chicken, on top of rigatoni pasta, kale and topped with a lemon, butter, caper sauce.
When I cook, I usually look at a recipe and what the directions/ingredients are, then make my own twist to it. I enjoyed the lemon, butter taste in the kale beneath the pasta. When you enjoy a bite with kale, it enhances the dish, as well as adding the crunch to the bite.
I highly recommend trying to make your own twist of a dish. When trying out the dish, I recommend lightly draping the chicken into the flour, you do not want too much breading. There is already enough crunch with the kale, I feel the light breading it what makes the perfect combo with this dish.
Overall, this dish is one of my favorites overall. I would give it an 8.7/10, the flavors and crunch of the kale just really gets me!
Pino’s Review:
How is it going my fellow FGCU Good Grubs family? On this week’s edition of our wonderful blog, I decided to make grilled pork chops with a cheesy baked potato on the side. I decided to pair my amazing dish with a Natty Daddy, a smooth and refreshing taste with every sip.
When I made this fabulous dish, I decided to use my roommate’s indoor grill. It was my first time using it. However, I was not pleased with the outcome. The indoor grill does not give the meat the same flavor that an outdoor grill does. Don’t get me wrong, the pork chops were still pretty decent but it would have been way better using an outdoor grill. I decided to pair my dish with a baked potato with Sargento® Shredded 4 State Natural Cheddar Cheese. Let me tell you something, that cheese was amazing and made the baked potato taste amazing. I highly recommend it.
This was a quick meal that was easy to make and it was pretty darn good. If I were to rate it, I would give it an 8.1/10. This is a type of meal I would suggest during this quarantine period if you’re tired of eating pizza rolls all the time.
